Steady Value: AI Value Stock Picks at a Fair Price
Good companies sometimes go on sale. Steady Value uses AI to find profitable, financially healthy businesses whose share price sits below what their numbers say they are worth.
What Steady Value Looks For
Cheap is not enough. Our AI value stock picks must be cheap for the right reasons. Read how every pick is scored.
A lower price for what you get. The AI compares price with earnings, sales and cash flow, and favours stocks that cost less than similar companies.
Steady profits. Companies need a record of making money through good years and bad.
Strong finances. Low debt and plenty of cash help a business get through tough times.
Signs of a turn. The AI checks that earnings forecasts are stable or rising, so it avoids firms that are cheap because they are getting worse.
This last test matters. A stock that looks cheap but keeps falling is called a value trap. Steady Value is built to avoid them.

Why Value Investing Still Works
A value investing strategy is one of the oldest ideas in the market: buy good businesses when they are out of favour, then wait for the price to catch up with the company's real worth.
It takes patience. Value stocks can lag for long stretches, especially when exciting growth stocks are leading. But when markets turn rough, solid and fairly priced companies have often held up better. Steady Value aims to give you that calmer path, with AI doing the hard work of sorting thousands of stocks.
Who Steady Value Suits
A good fit if you:
- Prefer a smoother ride over chasing the biggest gains
- Like the idea of buying solid companies at a fair price
- Are new to investing and want a calmer place to start
Maybe not the best fit if you:
- Want the fastest possible growth (see Tech Leaders)
- Mainly want regular income (see Dividend Builders)
- Are not willing to wait through slow periods
The Risks of Value Stocks
- Slow periods. Value stocks can trail the wider market for months or even years.
- Value traps. Some cheap stocks stay cheap. Our checks reduce this risk but cannot remove it.
- Still shares. Lower risk is not no risk. Steady Value can and will lose money in market drops.
We rate Steady Value 2 out of 5 for risk. Please read our Risk Disclosure before acting on any pick.
How It Fits With Other Strategies
Steady Value pairs well with Tech Leaders: one leans towards growth, the other towards value, so they often balance each other. For more income, add Dividend Builders. Compare them all on the all strategies page.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are the AI value stock picks chosen?
The AI scores each company on profitability, growth, financial health, valuation and momentum. Steady Value puts extra weight on valuation and financial health, and only top scorers make the list.
What are undervalued stocks?
They are shares that trade for less than what a company's earnings, cash flow and assets suggest it is worth. The idea is that the price may rise as the market notices.
Is Steady Value good for beginners?
It has one of our lower risk levels, so many new investors start here. It can still lose money, especially in the short term.
How is this different from an index fund?
An index fund holds every company in the index. Steady Value holds only a small group that the AI scores as good value, so its results can be quite different from the market.
How often does the list change?
Once a month. Every change is listed in Recent Changes and in the [[full track record->/track-record]].
